AMG GT And GT C Edition 50 Coupe At Detroit Show

Mercedes is going to bring a face-lifted AMG GT and the GT C Edition 50 Coupe to the Detroit auto show! At least that's what Carscoops is saying.

I'd like to see a few pictures of the GT C coupe from the auto show since I can't be there. And it's supposed to have a tuned twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with 550hp and 501lb-ft of torque. A beast of a car with come bespoke pieces to make it worth of the 50th edition name.

I presume those are intercoolers showing up in the air ducts in the front ??

Odds are it is since if you look at the engine bay the intakes are on the sides in line with what will allow for other cooling equipment to work how it should:

Can't imagine it being anything else.

Yepp. They're in the perfect position for maximum air flow for efficiency. It raises the question if one larger intercooler would have been better opposed to two small ones though.. But then there may not even be space for it which I'm sure they thought about first.

not sure of all the cooling dynamics but I can bet having two helps a lot for efficient cooling. Easier for them to pull in more air through the intakes and the regulate that as it enters the system.

Good for those of us that want to do ECU tunes

Better cooling is always a key thing and when your tuning to bump up that power, you'll probably be generating more heat so it's good to have them both there doing a good job. I haven't looked around yet but does anyone sell upgraded intercoolers?
