Never Better...

There's never been a better time to go through a mid life crisis.

AMG GT
F-Type
C7
911

I mean really, how is one to choose

There are plenty of great options available right now, and the whole luxury toy car market is only getting bigger so more and more models will likely be coming out. More supercars, more sportscars, more roadsters.

Are you guys thinking of buying something other than the AMG GT?

I don't think I'll be driving the AMG GT everyday. It's more of an evenings and weekends kind of car IMO. I have something more practical for more regular use.

Just got back from an AMG GT-S track day at the Thermal raceway near Palm Springs and I was most impressed. Having owned and raced Porsches for many years, and owning a number of AMG's I expected a fast, solid straight-line car. After an afternoon flogging one around the 3 mile track in race mode, I can truthfully say that this car handles both road and track better than any 911 variant. My 997 GT-3 might go around a bit faster (not even sure about that)but on the street, there is no comparison. Sharp turn-in, easily modulated oversteer and monster brakes for the track but superb manners on the street. Mercedes has a winner.

Have you driven all the 911 variants? That just seems like a bold statement unless you've had the privilege of driving a lot of Porsches.
