Mercedes AMG GT S vs. Audi R8 V10 in Acceleration Test [video]
Great little comparison video that pits the Mercedes AMG GT S against the Audi R8 V10.
Just for a little info on the engines in each vehicle:
[The AMG GT] uses a 4-liter twin-turbo engine that is gaining more and more popularity these days as various other AMG cars are starting to rely on it. On the S version it makes 510 HP and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque plenty to send the 1,645 kg (3,627 lbs) up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds. Yes, it may be debatable but we’re calling this a supercar.
Then there’s the second car in our video, the 2016 Audi R8 V10 Plus, the most hardcore R8 ever made. Fitted with a 5.2-liter V10 engine that’s good for 610 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque, the car hailing from Ingolstadt brags with an acceleration of 3.2 seconds, mostly thanks to its added traction via the all-wheel-drive quattro system.
