AMG GT R vs AMG E63 S

Just wanted to share this head to head drag race between the AMG Estate and the GT R. Personally I would've preferred if they were both stock, as I feel like the E63S would have probably won on a level playing field. Pretty incredible just how much of a difference AWD can make with off the line acceleration and was not anticipating such a close race between a wagon and race car.

AMG has come down to the point its more of what body style you want more than power. Even the Mercedes S65 AMG pulls impressive numbers, a saloon that can't be matched by many.
Sadly, once electric AMG models come to market it will put both of these to shame. But better their own products than Tesla.

The performance that these AMG Estate cars are delivering is nuts. Goes to show that you really don't need a two door sports coupe anymore, to get a more spirited driving experience.

Agree.

However if it wasn't for the mass appeal that Mercedes has then we wouldn't be seeing models like this come to market.

You don't see Lexus and Infiniti doing the same thing and for good reason.
