GT's new McLaren Rival?

Project P13 is a go, unfortunately they've decided to name the project externally as Sports Series. Aimed at everysingle 911 and the AMG GT by proxy..

Sport Series is a little bit of a weird name considering what the rest of McLaren's vehicles are named. Should be an exciting vehicle though. I'm not sure if people will stick to getting a Benz or if they will want the entry level McLaren.

Top of the line Benz or entry level McLaren???

Around what price range should we expect it to be like?
I'm also starting to worry that Mclaren might be going too down segment. Could this be as far down as they go or could we see something else under the P13?

I think that if McLaren wants to stay as a supercar company like Ferrari then they shouldn't go any further down market. If they did they would have to start thinking of themselves as more of a company similar to Porsche or Maserati.

Ok then why are Porsches consistently compared to Ferraris and Lamborghini's, its not exactly a detracting point to be like Porsche, they make stupid amounts of money as a company and build stupid fantastic products

McLaren is trying to build a brand...

the business of business is business. Where McLaren is attempting to go still keeps them in the exclusive range, lets be honest the majority of the world does not exactly have $150K just lounging (or are prepared to finance) and it still keeps McLaren out of mass production (which is where the real costs come in, as well as the reputation mass produced brings)

Although Porshces are mass produced and no one seems to have qualms with the 911...

that is very true, still to this day people consider the 911 the best of the best when it comes to sports cars and it deserves that to an extent but i think there's a good selection out there that's also growing to consider the 911 and others.

I wasn't saying that being like Porsche was bad, I was just questioning where the McLaren brand was headed.
