Greetings

Hey guys,

Just signed up for the forum and I'm super excited to be considering this car as a future purchase. I've never owned something quite as substantial before and I've had my eyes on Mercedes sports cars for as long as I can remember. I'm excited to see what you guys have to say about the car and possible suggestions for tuning, styling and maintenance.

Welcome Onyourleft!

Have you put in an order for your first AMG GT?

I have not yet as I'm still very much in the research stage. Still going though the various trim/build options and weighing the costs of new vs used. In the upcoming weeks I plan on sitting down with some dealers to discuss price points. Do you currently own an AMG GT?

I bought a less than a year old GT-S with 1400 miles and saved 50k with what was essentially a brand new car.

Nothing beats that and funny enough you might be able to get all your money back and some depending on when and where you sell. I have friends that often try to do that and in the worst case one ended up losing a few thousand, still not bad considering the fact in the end it was still cheaper than renting something similar for just as long.

Most recently I've driven the SLC AMG and was pretty impressed by it. Although I think its safe to assume its not on the same level as the AMG GT. Did you guys get your AMG's brand new? There seems to be a pretty significant price difference for used models and most have pretty low mileage. Depending on what you're willing to accept as used, there is up to a $70k price variation.

I heard that the SLC is a horrible product, it was part of Diamlers partnership with Mercedes. What I will say though is the SL is an impressive ride, had seat time in an SL65, a very solid product but the AMG GT wins me over.
