Thank God you are safe in all of the incident @Blueguy

InHouseSpecial is right that the towing fee is also reimbursed. But I think it depends on the vehicle condition and the towing rules. I have gone through a post on car transport from a shipping company few months before, there the similar kind of an incident was posted where the car owner got the towing fee reimbursed within few days.

If you're up for it, checking with an independent shop might be your best luck. But if you still want to deal with Mercedes, at some point they might have to call in an engineer. If they don't tell you about that option, it might be time to request it at the expense of your warranty.

I have a 2016 gts. Was driving to a restaurant a couple of nights ago when I got the message "electronic rear axle currently not available". I pulled over and shut car off. When I tried to restart, nothing. And it was stuck in park. Had a flatbed bring it to local Mercedes dealer. They called the factory in Germany, and the factory said they were sending a brand new transmission. The local dealer was surprised by how quickly the factory offered to do this without even suggesting other "fixes". Almost like this was something they've encountered before. Car has only 2,000 miles and is pampered.

Yay! A recall on the transmission. Drop the whole drive train. Good time for upgraded downpipes. LOL.
