Creaking and clunking

Am I the only owner who gets creaking and clunking noises from the rear of my car when I drive it. Brought it in to have it fixed and took the service manager on a ride and they said it was the flaps on the exhaust. They said they had a audio file and would check but when I got the car back it did not go away.

Exhaust flaps shouldn't be loose enough to make sounds, as least not that I'm aware of. Perhaps try a different dealership or a garage you trust for a second opinion?

I know it is not the exhaust flaps but the problem is not many garages have any knowledge of this car, I will give it a shot at another dealer but I don't think they have sold more than a handful as I have only seen 1 other in the 6 months I have owned the car.

No idea what the cause could be, only suggestion would be to try another dealership or keep complaining so your current service center takes a closer look.

You can also try taking it to corporate, maybe you can convince them take you taking it to an independent shop for a second opinion with the cost covered by MB would be a good idea, or better yet they can send someone out.

Perhaps if the dealership can't fix it in three tries, you can enact the lemon law and get another AMG.

Second owner and its over a year old, but still under 2500 miles.

Not bad mileage but might as well take advantage of the lemon laws and even the paper work trail that leads up to enacting the lemon law unless you plan on moving on to something else. With how good MB is at updating these from MY to MY, I can see why a current AMG GT owner would upgrade to the latest MY.

Finally got the time to get the car to the dealer and take them for a ride. Got the clunking and creaking within a few feet of pulling away from the service area. We also got a few other sounds that the rep could feel in the seat. Will see about how this is fixed but the rep did not seem like it was going to be an easy job, also thought this is going to take time to track down the noises if they ever can.

Also have had the oil over fill sensor alerting me on multiple occasions since I bought the car, turns out there is a technical service advisory about this.

Lemon law might come into play if they cannot address the noise for the second time, don't know how the law works in AZ on a used car that is almost 2 years old with 2.5k miles since it was noticed.

Got the car back, so far not more noises from the back, they torqued down the rear shock strut bar, put some tape on the plastic in the trunk. Checked the oil and it was over filled and replaced the sensor along with replace the coolant and re-pressurized the system. Also had them check the front seat butt pad as it seems to move a bit. Was told that there was a problem with them requiring a new seat frame if it fell within the certain vin numbers. My car did not fall in that vin category for replacement so they had to open a warranty case to replace the front drivers seat.
