AMG GT R Road Tested

So it looks like the folks over at CAR magazine had the chance to road test the new AMG GT R. It looks like this new model is lighter, wider and more slippery than the AMG GT S that won the Performance Shootout in 2016. Its running a modified version of the twin turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 found in the S, delivering 430kW and 800 N.m. It does 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 318km/h

When you say slippery, are you referring to oversteer? In certain situations it can be fun, but not when you're canyon carving like the guys at Car magazine are. Or is the handling so smooth they just slip right around each turn?

The article is here. I think they were just referring to how easy it was to swing the back end around. Later on in the article they mention the tires having excellent grip, so I don't think it had anything to do with steering.

Tires should able to help it out a lot in this case due to the fact the tires it comes with are geared more towards being a perfect medium of street and track. Thankfully lower trims got four wheel steering which on bigger cars can prove to be even more impressive.
