AMG GT Roadster Render

We aren't sure if Mercedes-Benz is going to make a roadster out of the AMG GT, but we do know what such a vehicle would look like thanks to this awesome render.

If built, the AMG GT Roadster would use the same 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine.

Don't hold you r breathe though because the AMG GT Roadster won't e seen for another 2 o3 years if it is even built.

AMG won't be building the roadster, they said so from the outset to protect the SL...

That's unfortunate, i'd love to see a roadster version of the AMG GT, that rendering of it above looks amazing.

I still think that it could happen down the road. Like 2017 or something. Don't count it out just yet?

It doesnt matter how far down the road you move the goalpost, AMG GT Roadster will not exist until the SL does not exist. It would be superfluous.

Regardless, the renders still keep coming in, probably because its easy content and people are talking about it...

I mean, it does look really good without a roof. I have to say that I am more of a fan of the hard top convertible than a soft top. Is it possible that the SL would be phased out sometime in the short to mid term?

I hope it does happen at some point, even 2017 would be nice. But of course the sooner the better.

I personally think it loses something as a roadster

Well it does lose a roof.

I think I like it better with the full roof and no convertible, but I do think that there are many out there that would jump at the chance to own an AMG GT roadster. It just seems to me that it would make business sense for Mercedes.
