Render of Mercedes-Benz AMG GT as a Shooting Brake

There has been plenty of talk about all the different variants that we may see of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and this render of the AMG GT as a shooting brake adds to that conversation. The AMG GT takes well to the shooting brake styling, and while vehicles like this often don't come to North America, there is a big demand for them in Europe. That means that this could actually happen.

Cannibalization shouldn't be an issue as the closest thing in the lineup is the G63 AMG.

The extra space that the rear hatch gives would make the car much more practical, and it still would look amazing.

As a shooting brake model it can look awesome but for that last rendering, a more coupe-like roof would help, one which slopes down a bit.

If it had a coupe roof wouldn't it just be a coupe then. The whole thing that makes it a shooting brake is that the roof is different (and the hatch).

Thats not what he's saying, instead of having a slab profile I agree some swoop added would make it just right.

See how the FF drops off slightly towards the rear...

Exactly, at least @Ma Kelly gets it.

Styled like that (which it should be), it will get a ton of positive responses from people that would actually drive one, and adjusting the look to that is what's better for the AMG GT's design.

Oh okay I get it. I could see how that might look better. I'd have to see an render of it to say for sure though. I don't have a problem with the more rounded design.

I agree, the original rendering is a bit too boxy for my tastes. Although the conventional look did work well on the XJS... I doubt this is in the cards no matter how much I want it

@Dr.FeelGood unfortunately it will probably not happen at all, unless someone comes along and does some custom shooting brake hard top for a convertible version of the AMG GT.

I think that the CLS shooting brake has the opposite problem from the AMG GT render. It looks too curved on the roofline. Needs some more angles.
